Buenos Aires, 16 de marzo (Télam).- La película argentina "Diletante", escrita y dirigida por la actriz, coreógrafa y directora teatral Kris Niklison, que describe la personalidad desbordante de su propia madre, obtuvo el premio al Mejor Documental en el 50mo. Festival de Cine de Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

Ganador del premio al Mejor Largometraje Argentino en el 23ro. Festival de Mar del Plata, esta película -que cuenta con Lita Stantic como productora asociada- es un atractivo documental en el que Niklison retrata a su madre, de 82 años, que posee la energía de una adolescente y la sabiduría de una anciana.

La mujer se llama Bela Jordan y en la película mantiene larguísimas conversaciones con su cocinera, en las que opina con lucidez sorprendente de temas cotidianos y trascendentes, dando su visión de la vida y del mundo, reflexionando sobre la muerte y definiéndose a sí misma como una diletante.

Después de la muerte de su marido, Bela vive sola -con la única compañía de su cocinera y un peón- en Sauce Viejo, provincia de Santa Fe, en una casa ubicada junto al Río Paraná, donde pasa el tiempo armando innumerables rompecabezas y se ocupa ella misma -con vitalidad envidiable- de cortar el pasto, hacer los mandados, juntar leña y encender el fuego.

Acostumbrada a trabajar con la imagen en los espectáculos teatrales que escribió, montó y protagonizó en más de 20 ciudades del mundo, Niklison nunca había filmado antes una película, pero se animó a hacerlo con su madre "con toda humildad y con la bendición de la ignorancia, sin guión, sin equipo técnico y sin influencias de nadie", según afirmó en una entrevista con Télam.

Niklison, que trabajó como acróbata, actriz y coreógrafa para el británico Peter Greenaway, aseguró que su película "es simple y humilde, pero muy libre. Diletante , la docuficción de la argentina Kris Niklison, ganó el primer premio de su rubro en el 50° Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Es un íntimo relato cinematográfico que la directora realizó sobre su madre, Bela Jordán, de 80 años, y su interesante vida a orillas del río Paraná. El secreto de sus ojos no ganó ningún premio, contra todos los pronósticos. El premio mayor se lo llevó Gigante (Uruguay, Argentina, Alemania, España), de Adrián Biniez (que también ganó como mejor director). El último verano de la Boyita , de Julia Solomonof, recibió tres galardones, entre ellos, la actriz Mirella Pascual.

Bela Jordán tiene 80 años y vive en una estancia familiar a orillas del Río Paraná en el interior de Argentina. Viuda aristocrática, dedica su tiempo al ocio activo: lee a orillas del río, arma rompecabezas de 2000 piezas, corta el pasto en tractor y navega en Internet con su laptop. Con la energía física de una adolescente y la sabiduría de una anciana, ella se enorgullece de nunca haber entregado su tiempo a la sociedad de consumo y describe la vejez como “la época más linda de su vida”.

Bela mantiene permanentes conversaciones con Cata, su mucama, en un debate sorprendente de cosas fundamentales y triviales. Mientras Cata cocina, ambas reflexionan sobre la vida y la muerte a medida que Bela se va revelando como alguien lúcido y autoritario, encantador y despiadado, tacaño y bon vivant a la vez.

Cesar, el peón de la estancia, es solitario y misterioso. El sueña con encontrar la mujer de su vida y merodea la casa espiando a Bela con el miedo obsesivo de encontrarla muerta. Su pasividad y sus miedos son mudos, ya que así como Cata es una voz que nunca aparece en cámara, Cesar es una presencia que no habla.

Como las piezas de los rompecabezas que Bela arma, el universo de estos tres seres se va desplegando poco a poco y el tiempo progresa fragmentado en un exuberante entorno que se revela de a pedazos.

Todo parece encajar cuando Bela recuerda la primera vez que escuchó la palabra diletante y pensó que eso quería ser cuando fuera grande: “ alguien sin otra ambición en la vida que la diversión”

Este íntimo retrato que comienza en Holanda, es realizado por su hija, quien regresa a la Argentina después de 20 años, cerrando un recorrido personal e inmortalizando la anárquica condición de su madre.

Bela Jordán is 80 years old and lives at the family’s estancia by the Paraná River in the Argentinean countryside. An aristocratic widow, she dedicates her time to active leisure: she reads by the riverside, makes 2000 piece puzzles, cuts grass on her tractor and surfs the internet with her laptop. With the physical energy of a teenager and the wisdom of an old lady she is proud of never having given her time to the consumer society and sees her old age as “the best time of her life”.

Bela holds permanent conversations with her maid Cata, in a surprising discussion about both the trivial and the profound. While Cata cooks, the two women reflect upon life and death and Bela reveals herself as lucid and authoritarian, cruel and charming, stingy and bon vivant.

Cesar, the handy man, is lonely and mysterious. He daydreams of finding the woman of his life and spies on Bela in his obsessive fear of finding her dead. His passivity and fears are mute: as Cata is a voice that never appears in camera, Cesar is a presence that does not talk.

Like the pieces of the puzzles that Bela slowly assembles; the inner universe of these three people is revealed piece-by-piece, time progresses fragmented and the exuberant environment unfolds in parts.

Everything seems to come together when Bela remembers the first time she heard the word dilettante and thought it was something she would like to be when she grew up: “someone with no ambition in life other than having fun”.

This intimate portrait that begins in Holland, is made by Bela’s daughter, who returning to Argentina after 20 years closes a personal journey and immortalizes the condition of her anarchistic mother.

Nacida en Buenos Aires, vivió en Amsterdam, Holanda, donde fundó la Kris Niklison & Company; en Hamburgo, Alemania, donde fue protagonista del Cirque du Soleil y en Embú das Artes, Brasil, donde tiene su estudio Casa das Artes.

Premiada internacionalmente como creadora y directora de teatro, como coreógrafa y actriz, ha desarrollado un lenguaje artístico propio que se caracteriza por su estilo personal e impacto visual combinando teatro físico, técnicas aéreas, danza y proyecciones audiovisuales.

Sus espectáculos M/F, Red Roses Red, Dilemma, The Neverlands y Se dice de mí, han sido presentados en más de 20 países de 4 continentes, recibiendo importantes premios (Mejor Actriz Cairo Internacional, Mejor Espectáculo Raamwerk Holanda entre otros) y la aclamación del público y la prensa internacional (The New York Times, De Volkskrant, NRC, La Folha de Sao Paulo, entre tantos otros).

Trabajó con Peter Greenaway (Prospero’s Books, Rosa a Horse Drama), con Dario Fo (L’Italiana en Algeri), y además de su rol protagónico de Ginger Kennedy presentó su creación Mrs Mc Niklison, a particular widow en el show Pomp Duck and Circumstances del Cirque du Soleil.

En 2006 trajo a la Argentina su espectáculo Dilemma con el cual recibió varios premios (Estrella de Mar Mejor Coreografía, José Maria Vilches, mención especial del Festival Iberoamericano de teatro de Mar del Plata) y la crítica elogiosa de la prensa local (La Nacion, Clarín, Ambito Financiero, Pagina 12, etc).

Una vez en Argentina realizó su ópera prima, el film Diletante, que fue premiado como Mejor Largometraje Argentino durante el 23* Festival de Cine de Mar del Plata.
